2/6/15

CIA torture and interrogation techniques are not usually explored and talked about, leading me to hold greater interest. What I find most interesting is truly just learning about the techniques. Waterboarding, for example, is when the victim is placed on their back and experiences a series of simulations, causing the subject to feel as though they are drowning. The effects of such techniques are gruesome and long lasting. The other thing I find interesting is the divide among political party morality. Most republicans view torture acceptable and justified, while many democrats believe it to be inhumane. Having become family friends with George W. Bush, it's hard reading so much criticism toward him. I can't imagine the pressure he underwent during his presidency regarding 9/11. This image below is of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed after and before torture. He experienced brutal techniques because of his involvement in the 9/11 attacks.
